Peer Reviewer Process

Manuscripts submitted to Qur’anuna: Jurnal Studi Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir will undergo a rigorous selection and assessment process by the Board of Editors to ensure they comply with the writing guidelines, focus, and scope while maintaining excellent academic quality. The manuscripts will be reviewed using the double-blind review method, where neither authors nor reviewers know each other’s identities. 1. Desk Review (Pre-Review) At the desk review stage, manuscripts are examined to ensure they meet the writing guidelines, focus, and scope with high academic standards. If the conditions are not met, authors will be given the opportunity to revise the manuscript based on the criteria, or it may be directly rejected. 2. Peer Review Once a manuscript passes the desk review, it will be delivered to two external reviewers who are experts in the specific field of the submission. The review process is typically completed within 2–4 weeks. 3. Reviewer’s Decision Reviewers provide the following recommendations: - Accepted: The manuscript is acceptable for publication. - Accepted with Minor Revisions: Acceptable once revised in response to specific concerns. - Accepted with Major Revisions: Substantive inadequacies (e.g., data analysis, theory, or structure) must be addressed. - Declined: The manuscript is not acceptable due to fundamental flaws. The Board of Editors makes the final decision, with the Editor-in-Chief holding full authority. 4. Revision Stage Authors are allotted 1 week for minor revisions and 3 weeks for major revisions. 5. Final Decision & Proofreading The Board of Editors re-evaluates the revised manuscript to ensure all concerns are addressed. Accepted manuscripts then undergo proofreading to maintain linguistic and stylistic quality according to the Brill and Mylotus font standards. 6. Publication Confirmation The final layout is sent to the author for a final check of typographical errors. Once confirmed, the manuscript will be processed for online and print publication. |
