Abstract





This study aims to analyze the ecotheological perspective in Tafsir al-Baḥr al-Muḥīṭ by Abu Hayyan Al-Andalusi related to the issue of sustainable food security by providing a fundamental theological foundation through the principles of Tawheed, Caliph, and Amanah in nature management. This research is qualitative with a literature study method. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using content analysis methods and descriptive-analytical approaches. This approach aims to dissect the construction of Abū Ḥayyān's thought in depth, then contextualize it with the challenge of sustainable food security in Indonesia through the lens of Islamic ecology. The results of the study show that Ecotheology in this interpretation offers moral-spiritual solutions to ensure food sustainability by prohibiting environmental destruction (Fasād) and encouraging moderate consumption ethics, emphasizing the importance of strengthening religious narratives in supporting national food sovereignty to face the ecological crisis.
