Fenomena Perubahan Iklim Dalam Tafsir Al- Bayḍāwī: Analisis Ayat-Ayat Keseimbangan Alam

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of climate change through Al-Bayḍāwī’s interpretation of Qur’anic verses related to natural balance. This research employs a qualitative library-based method with a thematic (mauḍū‘ī) analysis of mīzān-related verses in Anwār al-Tanzīl wa Asrār al-Ta’wīl. The findings indicate that climate change and ecological disasters are consequences of disrupted natural balance resulting from human violations of the principle of mīzān, manifesting as fasād caused by excessive exploitation of nature. Al-Bayḍāwī’s exegesis emphasizes that environmental crises are not merely physical phenomena but also reflect moral and theological deviations. This study highlights the relevance of classical Qur’anic exegesis in formulating Islamic environmental ethics as a foundation for preserving natural balance in addressing contemporary climate crises.
