Abstract





Effective social adjusment is one of the key indicators of adolescent success in building healthy interpersonal relationships, both with peers, teachers, and other social environments. Self-confidence is believed to play a vital role in supporting an individual’s ability to adapt to their social environment. This study aims to examine the influence of self-confidence on social adjustment among tenth-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Garut. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. A total of 109 students were selected from a population of 359 using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression tests. The results showed that self-confidence was in the moderate category with a percentage of 36.7%, and social adjustment was in the moderate category with a percentage of 36%. There was an significant influence of self-confidence on social adjustment of 30.2%. There findings indicate that self-confidence plays a role in helping students adapt socially within the school environment.
