Abstract
The issue at SMAN 1 Garut is that some students underutilize counseling services. Initial observations and documentation analysis show that since the beginning of the odd semester in July 2024, only 22 out of 471 grade XI students have visited the counseling room to discuss their issues. This study aims to assess students' perceptions of counseling services, the intensity of counseling services utilization, and to examine the relationship between students' perceptions and the intensity of counseling services utilization at SMAN 1 Garut. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. Data analysis was conducted using the product moment correlation, with a sample of 132 grade XI students from SMAN 1 Garut, and data were collected through questionnaires. The results indicate that students' perceptions of counseling services are categorized as moderate, with 41%, while the intensity of counseling services utilization is also categorized as moderate with 44%. The correlation analysis shows rcalculated = 0.744, while the rtable at a 5% significance level with n=132 is 0.159. since rcalculated (0.744) > rtable (0.159), the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Based on the interpretation of the "r" product moment value, rcalculated (0.744) is classified as high. erefore, it can be concluded that there is a strong relationship between students' perceptions of counseling services and the intensity of counseling services utilization among grade XI students at SMAN 1 Garut. This study contributes to identifying the significant relationship between students' perceptions and the intensity of counseling services utilization at school.
