ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN SISTEM PENDIDIKAN PESANTREN TRADISIONAL DAN PESANTREN MODERN DI INDONESIA

Abstract
Pesantren are Islamic educational institutions that continue to evolve in response to the needs of society. This study aims to compare the educational systems of traditional and modern pesantren in Indonesia. The research employed a qualitative method using a literature review approach by collecting and analyzing various sources of information, including books, scholarly journals, and relevant academic articles. The findings indicate that traditional pesantren primarily focus on the development of Islamic knowledge, the study of kitab kuning (classical Islamic texts), and the cultivation of students' moral character and spirituality. In contrast, modern pesantren integrate religious and general education through a more structured curriculum supported by the use of technology. Although the two systems differ in terms of curriculum, teaching methods, and institutional management, they share the same objective of producing Muslim generations who possess sound knowledge, strong moral character, and the ability to face the challenges of an ever-changing era.
