Budaya Pesantren Dan Pendidikan Karakter Pada Pondok Pesantren Campuran

Abstract
This study analyzes the culture of pesantren and character education practices in a mixed pesantren model at MTs Izharul-Haq Garut. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Pesantren culture serves as a living value system that shapes students’ spiritual, social, and moral character. The findings show that the pesantren integrates classical Islamic values with modern educational approaches, emphasizing discipline, sincerity, responsibility, independence, and ukhuwah. Bai’at Santri, a 16-point moral pledge, functions as the foundation of students’ ethical consciousness and behavioral guidelines. Character values are internalized through exemplary leadership, daily habituation, and moral supervision. Supporting factors include a religious environment, structured routines, and strong teacher role models, while challenges arise from students’ diverse backgrounds, digital influences, and facility limitations. Overall, pesantren culture provides an effective and holistic framework for shaping morally grounded, disciplined, and socially responsible students.
